Inclusivity

Our Story

Love Your Parks Mumbai (LYPMumbai) was born out of two mothers' collective desire to advocate for better public spaces for all Mumbaikars through community engagement, programming, and stewardship.
In November 2018 they came up with a creative solution to initiate public dialogue advocating for change. A community choir called LYPMumbai Chorus was founded and rehearsed for six weeks culminating in two free public concerts at Patwardhan and Joggers' Parks in Bandra.
Since then, LYPMumbai has been advocating for Mumbai's Public Open Spaces through social media and more than 250 free on-ground events in collaboration with local entrepreneurs and like-minded organisations.
Tina re-located in 2022 and Anca is still very much in Mumbai.
LYPMumbai believes that citizen involvement in the creation, activation and maintenance of Public Open Spaces is the backbone of a healthy society and democracy. Our vision is that one day every Mumbaikar will have access to abundant, welcoming, and user-friendly public open spaces.
LYPMumbai regularly collaborates with the MCGM and like-minded organisations and campaigns such as #BombayGreenway, #MahimBeachCleanUp, #SaveAarey and #SaveOurCoastMumbai.
Join us in building LYPMumbai from the ground as we work towards our vision of great #publicspacesforall in Mumbai!

![At Worli Koliwada, one of Mumbai’s original fishing villages, the past isn’t preserved in museums, it’s alive in every lane, net, and story. Long before the skyline rose, this was home to the Koli community, the city’s first inhabitants, whose deep relationship with the sea continues to shape its spirit today.
The Common Ground, an RPG Foundation initiative in collaboration with The Heritage Project, LYPMumbai and Arts.By.The.Bay, brought people together in this historic neighbourhood: to listen, create, and connect.
Because when we gather with intention, we don’t just host events, we honour place, people, and memory. 🌊✨
